Wonderful guest artist + free lunch!!!

Visiting Tapestry Artist Tito Mendoza from Teotitlan, Oaxaca Mexico

Tito and his wife Ale will be talking with students about their lives as artisans combining their traditional culture with their artwork.

Tamales and hot chocolate will be provided for you IF YOU RSVP by noon on Friday October 7th.  RSVP to cmkallen@wisc.edu


Erasto "Tito" Mendoza
Tito Mendoza is one of Oaxaca's finest weavers. Originally from Teotitlán del Valle, Tito was a weaver for the world renowned La Mano Mágico. Singer, Lila Downs has commissioned numerous pieces from Tito which are used in her performances and PR.  His work ¨Aires Zapotecos¨ was a finalist in the VI International Biannale of Contemporary Textile Art Tito and his wife Ale now own the store El Nahual in the historic center of Oaxaca.
